I. Community relations
Starting in 2023, FlowFolk has been collaborating with PhraeRich of Phrae Community College on Karen fabric product development. We have continued to run the project with our team since then.
II. R&D process in product development - Material Development for Lifestyle and Home Products
Exploring new possibilities of Karen fabric use beyond traditional clothing
Experimenting with increasing the thickness of Karen fabric using traditional back-strap loom weaving
III. New Material Introduction: Introducing Extra-Thick Karen Fabric for Clients Seeking Authentic, Locally-Sourced Products
The owner of the newly opened contemporary Bangkok restaurant, “Sourcing Table,” visited Phrae province in 2024 to seek locally-sourced products for her establishment.
We met upon recommendation and agreed to collaborate on developing aprons and cushion covers using the extra-thick Karen fabric.

IV. Product Development: Collaborating with Mae Tued Karen Weaving Group and local seamstresses to develop “Sourcing Table’s” products.

V. Product Delivery and Feedback: Delivering products to clients and gathering feedback for continuous improvement and future collaborations
Discussing Future Collaborations:
Exploring opportunities for co-branded products
Capacity building initiatives with the weaving group, focusing on sustainable materials and natural dyeing in collaboration with PhraeRich and the Department of Agriculture.

We will continue to develop more products together, for sure. How lucky we are to meet such like-minded people who fall in love with authentic local craft products. ☺️☺️
